Course Description

LL.M. two-year course is meant for those students who are not in any kind of service, employment, trade, business or profession. An affidavit in the prescribed form will be required to be submitted by a candidate wishing to pursue this course before he/she is allowed to be admitted to the two-year course. LL.M. three-year course is open to all.

Distinction – 75% & above

I Division – 60% & above

II Division – 50% & above

Pass Percentage – 50

Admission Eligibility : Admissions are made through an Entrance Test conducted by Faculty of Law, University of Delhi.

Only those candidates are eligible to appear in LL.M. Entrance Test and be admitted to LL.M. course who fulfill the following requirements regarding educational qualification and age as mentioned in Prospectus for the particular year of admission.

(a) All candidates having a three-year/five-year LL.B. Degree from the University of Delhi or any other Indian or foreign University recognized as equivalent by the University of Delhi with at least 50% marks or equivalent grade point in the aggregate.

The candidates belonging to SC/ST/CW category having a three-year/five-year LL.B. Degree from the University of Delhi or any other Indian or foreign University recognized as equivalent by the University of Delhi with at least 45% marks or equivalent grade point in the aggregate.

Relaxation of upto 5% marks in the minimum eligibility prescribed for general candidates will be allowed to the candidates belonging to PH category on the recommendations of the Medical Board.
Note:(1) The candidates appearing in the LL.B. Degree examination or awaiting the results of any such examination are also eligible to appear in the LL.M. Entrance Test, for that particular year provisionally but they cannot be considered for admission unless they produce the proof of their having secured the above percentage of marks making them eligible and other relevant documents as indicated in the prospectus at the time of admission.

(2) Rounding off a fraction of marks in not allowed.

(b) The minimum age for those who have completed LL.B. five year degree course is 22 years and 23 years in case of LL.B. three years degree course from the date mentioned in the prospectus for the particular year of admission.

Reservations: The seats are reserved for the candidates under the following categories only :
15% of total seats for SC (Scheduled Caste) and 7.5% seats for ST (Scheduled Tribes) candidates are reserved which can be inter-changed in case of non-availability of the candidates in any of these categories.

5% of total seats are reserved for CW candidates (children/widows/wives of the officers and men of the armed forces including para-military personnel killed/disabled in action or those who died/were disabled on duty).

3% of total seats are reserved for PH candidates (physically handicapped) (1% for persons with low vision or blindness, 1% for hearing impaired and 1% for those with loco motor disabilities or cerebral palsy which can be interchanged in case of non-availability of the candidates in any of these categories). The modalities for admission of physically handicapped candidates have been given in the prospectus.
