MBA (Full-Time) Public Systems Management

Course Description :

Public Systems Management has been designed for executives in energy, education, health care, rural development, transport, banking, manufacturing and other developmental sectors. The management education in public systems and public services, which is important for the socio-economic development of India, has so far been largely neglected. It is felt that modern management techniques should be applied to these areas and the rationale of the course emerges from criticism of the public systems and public sector undertakings that they are not working efficiently. As poor performance is the outcome of the managerial deficiencies, the executives in such organizations need theoretical inputs apart from improving managerial skills. The specific objectives of the programme are: (i) To provide conceptual inputs regarding modern management techniques; (ii) To build an application base of managerial techniques to the problems in public systems and other areas of the tertiary sector; and (iii) To enhance the understanding of public systems management. The intake in this programme is 30 students.
